Jane Eyre, Manchester – Sunday Set Menu
Overall Score: 8.4/10 (8.6 if you politely ignore the chicken)
If you’re hunting for a solid Sunday set menu in Manchester, Jane Eyre does not disappoint. We kicked things off with the Marcel and beetroot starter — light, fresh, and just the right size. In the words of Borat: “I liiiike.”
Then came the main event: the beef roast. Top class. Not quite world class, but up there with the best I’ve had. The flavours were popping like my nose in a lift mirror (don’t judge me). Portion-wise, I could have easily tackled another round of meat and veg — but what was there went down a treat.
Phoebe gave the chicken roast a go, and… dry. Like, “please bring water immediately” dry. Decent effort, but compared to the beef it felt like an afterthought.
For reference, it’s not quite the Golden Lion (the undisputed champ in my roast league table), but Jane Eyre lands a comfortable silver medal.
Verdict: Go for the beef, avoid the chicken, and prepare for flavours that make Sunday worth getting out of bed for.
